I firmly believe that my problem solving skills come from games like Super Mario bros and portal. I am certainly encouraging my kids to "waste time, mindlessly playing stupid video games". My passion for games encouraged my to learn programming languages and build my own.

I think I'd like to develop a driving game wherein to unlock the 'cooler' cars (and maybe even race tracks or driving tricks), you had to earn points by doing things like actually stopping at stop signs, using your FREAKIN' TURN SIGNAL, and reacting to sudden real-to-life things like crappy weather conditions, a kid suddenly deciding to step out into the street, and so on. Maybe have a random feature wherein if you don't follow the traffic laws, you get 'ticketed' and have to forfeit some of your points. (Can you tell I'm a professional driver by trade?)

I know it sounds somewhat boring, but every day I have to deal with craptastic drivers – people who go 85 or 90 MPH in a 60 MPH-zone (or, inversely, the morons who decide to randomly drive 35 MPH on the FREAKIN' FREEWAY where the limit's posted at 65 MPH), asshats who don't bother looking to check their blind-spot before merging (and who are apparently all out of blinker fluid), or idiots who think cutting within ten feet of the front end of my 80,000-pound Pete and then slamming on their brakes is a good idea (lemme give y'all a small clue-by-four: getting that close to the front end of a moving semi is NEVER a good plan). If the game had varying levels of difficulty, you could introduce good driving habits to someone as young as three or four years of age (I'm thinking like the levels for the later Guitar Hero games, where you could set it so that you didn't have to bother with the colored buttons at all, but only had to 'strum' to the right beat), so by the time they actually became old enough to get their learners' permit (or license), it would be second nature to come to a full stop and look before proceeding through an intersection or to use the THRICE-DAMNED TURN SIGNAL.

Make a game that puts the player in a certain environment alone with a animal that inhabits said enviorment. The player has to learn the animal's behvaior through trial and can use this knowledge to perhaps work with real animals. Maybe teach children to respect life other than themselves, and maybe get rid of the prideful mindset that we have with animals being nothing but playthings to mess around with.

For real this does NOT MEAN video games are better than school IT IS FALSE that In the intro "Why go to school then play… VIDEO GAMES?" My answer is NOOOOO! I mean what about MATH? im a 9 year old kid and i love math. VIDEO GAMES are spent only for Saturdays and Sunday mornings and when it is VACATION. This made no sense to some people but This video is STILL correct they teach you SKILLS witch is good for encreasing Your own SKILLS but the video DID NOT mean video games are better than school. And one last thing I saw in social media, a kid was shaking because she was playing video games for quite a long time. So school is better than games that are IN THE PAST for kids wasting time.

First off misleading title, I thought you were going to talk about videogames that teach quantum physics not say there's a possibilty they should exist.
Secondly it's pretty hard to not make an educational game that's not boring. Just because it's a game doesn't automatically mean it's entertaining. In fact most people want to ESCAPE those types of real life chores. It might be good for teens but working full time doing math and then loading up a game at home only to not actually rest but do more math is tedious.

My game would take the player to the university that the player would love to be in. (And didn't needed to study to be in that one!! And the game would cost 10 times less the the price to be in a real university).
I am not sure if the game like this would be rated for olders then 18 or for youngers.
The special thing would be to play as you were in a real classes! With real information given by the 3D teacher, and the tests, and the homework!! And the real "Mind Blow" is to share your game studies on social networks like facebook.
