CASINO NIGHT, A DEEJAY. IT’S A FUN EVENT. WE ASK PEOPLE TO DONATE COATS,
HATS, GLOVES. WE WORK WITH THE ANNE ARUNDEL
COUNTY FOOD BANK TO GET THE
WINTER GEAR OUT TO THE LOCAL
COMMUNITY. EVERY YEAR, IT’S A BIG, FUN
EVENT. WE HAD ALMOST 400 COATS LAST
YEAR DONATED. ASHLEY: NOT ONLY WONDERFUL FOOD
BUT A WONDERFUL CAUSE. SO WE’RE MAKING CHILI. THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS YOU’LL
BE ABLE TO TASTE AT THE EVENT. SO TELL US WHAT KIND OF CHIL LI

MILLION DIFFERENT TYPES.>>THERE ARE. THIS IS A CLASSIC TEXAS CHILI. BEEF, TOMATO PRODUCTS, SPICES,
AND THAT’S IT. NO BEANS. ASHLEY: I’M FROM TEXAS, AND I
KNOW THAT FACT, BUT I LIKE BEANS
IN MY CHILI. THIS IS WITHOUT IT. A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE SAYING THIS
IS THE BEST WAY TO GO. TAKE USTHROUGH.>>I AGREE. IT’S EASY TO MAKE
IT JUST TAKES TIME. START OFF WITH YOUR SLICES,
CHILI POWDER, CUMIN, GRANULATED
ONION, PAPRIK I CAYENNE. I BELIEVE YOU SHOULD TOAST YOUR
SPICES. PUT THEM IN A HOT POT AND TOSS
THEM AROUND UNTIL THEY GET A
LITTLE COLOR TO THEM. ASHLEY: UNTIL YOU START SMELLING
IT TOO. THAT TELLS YOU IT’S TOASTING
AWAY.>>RIGHT. AT THAT POINT, ADD TOMATOPASTE,
AND THEN JUST MUSH THAT AROUND
UNTIL ALL THE SPICES ARE MIXED
IN TO THE PASTE AND YOU GET A
DARK RED COLOR. AT THAT POINT, YOU’RE READY FOR
DICED TOMATOES TOMATO PURE
AND SOME GROUND BEEF AND CHOPPED
ONION. ASHLEY: TH BEEF IS ALREADY
COOKED?>>IT IS. WE’D BE ADDING A BUNCH OF WATER,
BUT WE’D HAVE TO WAIT TWO HOURS
TO TRY IT. ASHLEY: WE DON’T WANT TO WAIT
THAT LONG.>>I GOT UP EARLY TODAY. ASHLEY: WRAP IT UP, CAN WE GET A
