THERE ARE SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOCATIONS OF EXPOSED AREAS INCLUDING THE LUXOR HOTEL AND CASINO REGISTRATION AREA ON AUGUST FIRST BETWEEN 8 AM AND ONE O CLOCK — AS WELL AS THE SHOPPES AT MANDALAY BAY ON THE HEALTH DISTRICT IS ADVISING PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO REVIEW THEIR IMMUNIZATION STATUS AND CONTACT THEIR HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS IF THEY ARE NOT FULLY IMMUNIZED AGAINST MEASLES OR HAVE NOT ALREADY HAD THE DISEASE. 13;56;32 “MOST PEOPLE HAVE BEEN VACCINATED AGAINST MEASLES. SO THIS ISN’T AS BIG AS AN ISSUE. BUT, CERTAIN PEOPLE MAY HAVE BEEN VACCINATED AND IT’S IMPROTANT FOR THOSE PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT THEY WERE AT RISK.” SYMPTOMS CAN BEGIN UP TO 21 DAYS AFTER EXPOSURE TO THE VIRUS. SOME PEOPLE MAY DEVELOP A RASH WITH A FEVER. THE MEASLES CAN RESULT IN PNEUMONIA, SEIZURES, AND DEATH. THOSE MORE LIKELY TO SUFFER FROM COMPLICATIONS INCLUDE YOUNG CHILDREN AND OLDER ADULTS.     Hong Kong protesters at the airport making contact with travelers creates a public health issue if someone from the United States brought the measles with them. They will have an epidemic. And health officials won’t know how it started and may not be ready to handle an epidemic.
